Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute – initiated a breeding project with Chinese shrimp (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) in Qingdao, China.
Akvaforsk Genetics Center AS (AFGC) of Norway has in collaboration with two Chinese institutions – the National Fisheries Technical Extension Center and Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute – initiated a breeding project with Chinese shrimp (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) in Qingdao, China. The objective is to demonstrate an effective breeding technology to genetically improve important traits such as growth, survival and disease resistance in a local aquaculture species. Chinese authorities will use experiences from the project as a model for establishing breeding centers for several aquaculture species in China.
