Akvaforsk Genetics Center as approved as R&D institution in SkatteFUNN
The Norwegian Research Council has now approved Akvaforsk Genetics Center as R&D institution under the SkatteFUNN program, established to increase innovation and creation of values in trade and industry, and to improve Research and Development (R&D) efforts in Norwegian industry.

SkatteFUNN is a scheme for tax deduction of R&D expenses in all enterprises, which are eligible for Norwegian taxation. Eligible R&D projects are limited, focused project aiming at bringing forward new knowledge, information or experience which suppose to be of use for the enterprise in developing new or improved products, services or manufacturing/processing. For enterprises with more than 250 employees, eighteen per cent of the expenses related to an approved R&D project may be deducted in income tax, wealth tax and national insurance tax to the state. For smaller enterprises, twenty per cent deduction is possible (some restrictions apply). The maximum sum of R&D projects conducted by the enterprise itself is NOK 4 millions. Where enterprises collaborate with an approved R&D institution like AFGC, the maximum sum is NOK 8 millions. For further information about SkatteFunn, see http://www.skattefunn.no
